I have been a part of WXSU 96.3 our student run radio station at Salisbury University since 2014.

When I first joined, I was a DJ with my own personal show. The goal of my show was to be distinguishable as I was passionate about conducting "perfect" interviews with different bands. Within my time at WXSU, this has been the only show that did interviews professionally. I would get emails from bands that were coming to town that offered to do interviews, or I personally contacted the management of artists who would be nearby. I have my own TASCAM portable recorder that I have taken to venues to do interviews backstage with different bands as well as bands coming to our studio or calling live over the phone. The reason why I specified "perfect" interview is because as a music fan, I would watch interviews of different bands that I liked and each time the interviewer would be terrible in one way or another. Sometimes they seemed unprepared, but most times it seemed like lack of creativity in coming up with questions and complete lack of research on the bands at all. This bothered me because my idea behind anything is if you're going to do something you should do it well. Therefore, when I did interviews, I promised myself that I would work hard to watch previous interviews to see what questions they'd already heard and to come up with new material that would keep them from being bored after so many interviews.

Due to my dedication to my show and my being a member of the music team within WXSU and contributing to weekly reviews on CDs, I was asked to become a part of management after my first semester.

At my new position of Assistant Music Director, I was responsible for the intake of new music, distributing said music to our staff for reviewing, adding new songs to our library, and logging music monthly.

After one semester of working in management, I was promoted again to my current position, Program Director, which I have had since 2015. As the second highest position at the station, I have a lot of responsibilities. Some of those include schedule programming, creating and maintaining the playlist logs, managing the acceptance or denial for WXSU to appear at on campus and off campus events, managing our music blog, etc.

WXSU has given me some incredible opportunities that I never thought I would be able to do. For example, one of the bands I interviewed, The Jesters, was a band complied of SU students. When we met and hung out for the interview, we really hit it off and they have become some of my best friends. We grew together for another year or so as I began to officially manage them. I went to all of their performances, helped to sell their merchandise, and helped set up a tour for them. Along with them, I have appeared in a interview done for a documentary about them. Working with them was one of the best things I've ever done and they changed my whole experience here.

WXSU has built me as a person, built me a home here at Salisbury University, and built me a family of 90+ staff members.
