Work Logs: Week 8
Week 8: March 27, 2017-April 1, 2017 (15.75/105.25 hrs.)
This was a very exciting week for me because it was focused on preparation and the execution of our big Easter event in partnership with Crown Sports and the Delmarva Shorebirds. They have been telling me about this event since the beginning of the semester and I have been patiently waiting for it to arrive. During the week days, I was able to go to the show each day like normal in the morning, and then when I reappeared in the afternoon I was able to help with office work that prepared us for the event. This Saturday was the actual event, and I think the best day of my internship with iHeartMedia so far.
Tasks completed this week:
-
Participated in the show each day
-
Transcribed 3 spots for our sales team
-
Cut out tickets for the Easter event
-
Entered contests winner information into the 2017 winners list
-
Called prize winners for their information
-
Sat in for an interview with Eddie from Disney on Ice
-
Met Eddie and his manager at the door to greet them and occupy them until Mr. Scott and Mr. Wilson completed their segment on-air.
-
Cut out flyers for the Easter event
-
Filled in the calendar for sound board workers to create their schedule for Shorebirds broadcasting
-
Helped at the event with set up, registration, photography, and clean up
-

-
Networking with Shorebirds and Crown Sports employees
Things I learned this week:
-
Although I learned a lot in the office this week, I think the most important thing I need to talk about from this week comes from the event. I loved every second of this event because it was something that I have never gotten to experience before. We went out into the community and people wanted us to be there, and they even enjoyed having us there. It was such a great environment to be in and I couldn’t help but smile the whole time I was there. I was able to meet so many cool people, including our photographer, Kenny. I really appreciated this opportunity and I would love if I got to do more things like this.
